Employment Notice RRC/SER/S&G Quota/2026-27 dated 01/09/2026 notifies 10 posts: 2 in Level-2 (Group C, GP ₹1,900) at SER Headquarters and 8 in Level-1 (erstwhile Group D, GP ₹1,800) — 2 each for Adra, Chakradharpur, Kharagpur and Ranchi divisions. The open advertisement is for Indian citizens who hold both the academic qualification and the Scouts/Guides norms in para 5.0 of the PDF. Posts are open to all communities; there is no earmarked reservation under this quota, though age relaxation applies as in open-market recruitment. Scouts/Guides (both levels, para 5.0): President Scout/Guide/Rover/Ranger or Himalayan Wood Badge in any section; active member of the Scouts Organisation for the last 5 years (Certificate of Activeness as Annexure-A); two events at National or All Indian Railways level and two events at State level.
OBC upper-age relaxation 3 years; SC/ST 5 years. Serving Railway staff, widows/divorced/judicially separated women, PwBD, Ex-servicemen, quasi-administrative staff and CCAA have further limits in para 7.0. Proof of age: birth certificate or 10th certificate/admit card/mark sheet showing DOB.

Exam pattern / syllabus
Syllabus in the PDF covers history of Scouting/Guiding, Law and Promise, district/state organisation and training centres, books, motto, salute, flags, social service, hiking, badges, progressive training, pioneering, Indian Railway Jamborette, National Jamboree, JOTA, WAGGGS/WOSM, Upa-Rashtrapati and PM Shield competitions, community development and aims of Scouting.
How to apply
Open only rrcser.co.in. Use the link “Online/E-Application for Scouts & Guides Quota /2026-27” and New Registration.
Enter name, father’s name, DOB, community, email and mobile. Note the registration number and password from SMS/email.
Log in. Upload colour photo (35×45 mm / 320×240 px, 20–50 KB JPG), signature and LTI (10–40 KB), educational, age, caste/income and Scouts/Guides certificates.
Pay the fee online (net banking / debit / credit). Service charges are extra.
Submit. Save the unique application number. Take two printouts. Do not post a paper form to RRC/SER.
Keep the same mobile and email through the drive. Serving government employees need NOC. SC/ST candidates get a 2nd-class journey pass for written test and DV as per extant rules.

Minorities in the PDF: Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Zoroastrians (Parsi). EBC: family income below ₹50,000 a year (Annexure-VII). Mark the refund account on the form or the fee is not returned.
Pay
Pay is the minimum of Level-2 (GP ₹1,900) or Level-1 (GP ₹1,800) plus allowances after appointment. Posting is decided by the competent authority.
