No post is reserved for a community. The notice says the posts are open to all communities, and that age relaxation for SC, ST and OBC is the same as in general recruitment.

The candidate must hold a President’s Scout, Guide, Rover or Ranger certificate, or the Himalayan Wood Badge, and must have been an active member of a Scouts organisation. The notice also asks for attendance at events at National or All India Railway level, and at State level, in the years it lists. Those certificates are enclosed as the annexures named in the notice.

Age is as on 01.01.2027. The notice prints further upper ages for serving railway employees, widows, persons domiciled in Jammu and Kashmir, ex-servicemen, and persons with disability. The date of birth must match the Matriculation or equivalent certificate.

A Clerk-cum-Typist must reach 30 words per minute in English or 25 words per minute in Hindi within the period the notice sets. Until then the appointment in that category stays provisional.

Selection

Level-1 and Level-2 are assessed separately. The written test, or the hybrid CBT-cum-physical exam, carries 60 marks. Of that, 40 marks are objective questions on Scouts and Guides, and 20 marks are an essay on the organisation and its activities. The notice sets negative marking: one-third of the marks allotted to the question, for each wrong objective answer. Certificates carry 40 marks. The total is 100.

The question paper is in Hindi or English. The candidate chooses one language in the application. A candidate found fit as per notification is called for document verification. The recommended candidate must meet the medical classification Bee Two for the post identified by the administration.

Fee

Payment is online. Minorities in the notice are Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains and Zoroastrians (Parsis). Economically backward class means annual family income below Rs 50,000. The exemption certificate and the minority self-declaration must be uploaded in the format on the RRC website. A refund is only for a candidate who is found eligible and who appears in the exam.

2. Open the Scouts and Guides application link and keep the same email address and mobile number until the recruitment ends.

3. Choose the level and the unit. Upload the photograph, the Scout or Guide uniform photograph where the notice asks for it, the signature, and the certificates.

4. Pay the fee for that application through the payment gateway and keep the e-receipt. A second level needs a second application and a second fee.
