Railway Recruitment Cell, North Central Railway, Prayagraj, dated GDCE Notification No. RRC/NCR/GDCE-01/2026 on 28.09.2026. The indicative notice and the detailed notification are both on the cell website. The detailed PDF is the document that carries eligibility, the vacancy annexure and the examination pattern. Annexure E totals 656 posts. There is no minimum service condition, under Railway Board RBE 72/2024 dated 02.08.2024. An employee in a higher grade than the notified post cannot apply. An employee cannot apply for the post on which he or she is presently working. Trainees and substitutes who are not regularised are outside this notification. Law Assistant, Catering Inspector and Accounts cadre are also outside it.

Assistant Loco Pilot is in the Electrical department, medical standard A-1, and the PwBD columns are marked not applicable. Commercial cum Ticket Clerk carries horizontal PwBD figures of HI 2, LD 3 and MD 1. There is no separate EWS reservation in this GDCE, under RBE 72/2019. PwBD reservation is horizontal, under the Railway Board letter dated 27.12.2022. Annexure E splits Technician-III and Junior Engineer by trade and department. The trade-wise rows are in the PDF.

Age, qualification and stages

The upper age on 01.01.2027 is 42 years for UR, 45 years for OBC and 47 years for SC/ST. SC, ST and OBC-NCL candidates applying against unreserved vacancies do not get age relaxation. The date of birth in the service record has to match the proof uploaded with the form. Educational qualification is reckoned on the closing date, and it has to be endorsed in the service record and in HRMS. Candidates waiting for the final result of the prescribed qualification are not eligible.

Assistant Loco Pilot needs Matriculation or SSLC plus ITI, or a completed Act Apprenticeship, in the trades listed in Annexure F, or Matriculation or SSLC plus a three-year diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or Automobile Engineering. A degree in those disciplines is accepted in place of the diploma. Technician and Junior Engineer qualifications are trade-wise in the same annexure. Commercial cum Ticket Clerk and Junior Clerk cum Typist follow the NTPC non-graduate parameters in Annexure F.

There is one Computer Based Test, then an aptitude test or a skill test where the post requires it, then document verification and a medical examination. For Assistant Loco Pilot the CBT has 100 questions of one mark each, 120 minutes, with a deduction of one-third mark for each wrong answer. The Computer Based Aptitude Test has no negative marking, and its questions and options are in English and Hindi. For the NTPC non-graduate posts the CBT is 90 minutes and 120 questions: General Awareness 50, Mathematics 35, and General Intelligence and Reasoning 35. A PwBD candidate using a scribe gets 120 minutes. Junior Clerk cum Typist has a qualifying Computer Based Typing Skill Test at 30 words per minute in English or 25 words per minute in Hindi. Candidates equal to eight times the vacancies in each community are called for that test. There is no supplementary examination for absentees. Examination dates will be published on rrcpryj.org.
