Railway Recruitment Cell, Western Railway, Grant Road, Mumbai has invited online applications on rrc-wr.com against Open Advertisement Sports Quota 2026–27. Employment Notice RRC/WR/01/2026 (Sports Quota) dated 27-08-2026 notifies 64 posts: 21 Group C (5 in Level 5/4 and 16 in Level 3/2) and 43 Level-1 (erstwhile Group D). There is no reservation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD or Ex-servicemen. Apply from 01 September 2026, 10:00 to 30 September 2026, 18:00. Age is 18–25 years as on 01 January 2027 (born between 01.01.2002 and 01.01.2009, both days inclusive). Sports norms must have been earned from 01 April 2024 to the date of notification. RRC WR Sports Quota Notification 2026 Out @rrc-wr.com
Only Indian citizen sportspersons who already hold the academic qualification and the recognised sports achievement for the advertised event/position should apply. A separate application and fee is required for each discipline and each pay level. Western Railway will appoint only candidates who also fit the Western Railway Sports Association team. Offline forms are not accepted. Selected candidates may be posted anywhere on Western Railway and must execute a 5-year service bond.

If Level 5/4 seats in a discipline stay vacant, they may be filled in Level 3/2 in the same discipline. Anyone who holds higher sports norms but applies for a lower level must give an undertaking not to claim a higher pay level on older achievements after joining.

Awaiting final results is not allowed. Clerk-cum-Typist appointees must later meet 30/25 w.p.m. typing within four years. Sports achievements must fall between 01.04.2024 and the notification date; the concluding day of the championship counts. Level-wise minimum norms (Olympics / World Cup / Asian / Commonwealth / National / Federation Cup and sport-specific notes for athletics, cricket, hockey, boxing, etc.) are in paras 3.3–3.4. Apply only for the event/position advertised and for which you have recognised norms. Championships must be under federations recognised by RSPB; MoYAS recognition at the time of the event is required for National championships.

Minimum qualifying marks: Level 5/4 — 70; Level 3/2 — 65; Level 1 — 60. Merit decides the offer; if marks tie, the younger candidate is preferred. Then Railway medical fitness for the allotted post. Bring original Aadhaar (or 28-digit enrolment ID) and documents to trial. Do not send prints by post; carry the application print to trial.
How to apply
Open only rrc-wr.com and the Sports Quota online form.
Enter the 12-digit Aadhaar number (or 28-digit enrolment ID). Name, father’s name and DOB must match education and sports certificates.
Upload a colour photo (3.5×3.5 cm, 20–70 KB JPG, not older than three months) and signature (20–30 KB, not in block letters).
Upload academic, DOB, sports (from 01.04.2024) and, if claiming fee concession, caste/minority/EBC papers.
Pay online (card / net banking / UPI). Save the e-receipt and registration number.
One application per discipline. Different details or extra applications for the same discipline are rejected. Serving PSU/government staff need NOC at trial. OBC-NCL must be in the Central format issued on or after 01.04.2026.

Ineligible applicants who still pay do not get a refund. Minorities: Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Parsis, Jains (Annexure-A). EBC: family income below ₹50,000 a year (Annexure-B / BPL / Izzat MST).
Pay
On appointment, minimum pay of the allotted level plus allowances. During training, only the applicable stipend. Male appointees may be liable for the Railway Engineers Unit of the Territorial Army.
