ISRO ICRB Scientist Engineer Recruitment 2026: 175 Posts

The Indian Space Research Organisation, through the ISRO Centralised Recruitment Board (ICRB), has opened online applications on isro.gov.in for 175 Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ posts under Advertisement No. ISRO:ICRB:03(EMC):2026 dated 27 August 2026. The seats cover Electronics, Mechanical and Computer Science at constituent ISRO Centres (Group ‘A’ Gazetted) and three seats at the autonomous Physical Research Laboratory (PRL) (Group ‘A’ Non-Gazetted). Qualification is BE/B.Tech or equivalent in the matching stream with an aggregate of at least 65% marks or CGPA 6.84/10. Age is a maximum of 28 years as on 16 September 2026. This is a fresh EMC cycle, not the 2025 advertisement ISRO:ICRB:02(EMC):2025 (that board is still running interviews) and not ISRO:ICRB:02(EMC-CEPO):2026. Vacancies are tentative; any change will come as a corrigendum on isro.gov.in. The English text of the notice prevails if Hindi and English differ. Do not act on fake appointment offers. Allied BE/B.Tech titles accepted in each stream are listed only in the official FAQ PDF.

An asterisk (*) is a backlog PwBD seat. If no suitable candidate is available in a notified disability category, the seat may be interchanged among categories A–E; if none is available, it may be filled by a person without disability. Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ in Electronics & Communication, Mechanical and Computer Science. Centre posts are Group ‘A’ Gazetted; the three PRL posts are Group ‘A’ Non-Gazetted. Appointees can be posted or later transferred to any Department of Space / ISRO Centre or Unit. The posts are temporary but likely to continue. Only Indian nationals may apply.

Eligibility

CGPA and percentage

• If the degree or consolidated marksheet shows both CGPA and percentage, at least one of them must meet the ISRO cut-off.

• If only CGPA is printed, that CGPA itself must meet 6.84/10. Conversion to percentage is not allowed, even if the university publishes a formula. The same rule applies in reverse when only percentage is printed.

• Dual / integrated degrees: use the graduation-level figure if shown separately; otherwise use the single final CGPA/percentage for the whole course, or the cumulative figure on the final marksheet if the degree certificate is silent.

CBT cities named in the notice: Agartala, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh/Mohali, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Ernakulam, Gorakhpur, Gurugram, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jammu, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Kavaratti, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mangaluru, Mumbai, Mysuru, Nagpur, Patna, Port Blair, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Tiruchirappalli, Thiruvananthapuram, Varanasi, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam. There is no TA for the written test. Interview TA is second-class train fare by the shortest route from the city entered on the form.

How to apply

1. Read the advertisement PDF and the FAQ.

2. Open the online form from the ICRB page on isro.gov.in. NCS-registered candidates who meet the notice may also apply through this process.

3. Register, save the registration number, and enter a working e-mail — hall tickets and call letters go by e-mail only.

4. Upload a colour passport photograph (not older than 3 months, .jpg/.jpeg, about 100–200 KB) and a signature on white paper in black ink (about 80–150 KB). Caps, hats and dark glasses are not accepted.

5. Upload one SC/ST/PwBD/ESM certificate if you claim a full processing-fee refund.

6. Pay ₹750 on Bharatkosh (Internet Banking, UPI or domestic debit card). Cash, cheque, draft, MO or IPO is not accepted. The applicant bears gateway charges.

7. Enter bank details correctly for any refund. Submit once; if you file more than one form for the same post, only the application against which the fee is received by the last date is kept.

Government / PSU / autonomous employees must apply with the employer’s prior permission and produce an original NOC at interview, or they are not interviewed and get no TA. Originals of age, qualification and category are checked at interview.

Salary

Minimum basic pay is ₹56,100 a month in Level 10, plus DA, HRA and Transport Allowance. Staff come under the New Pension Scheme. Medical cover for self and dependants, a subsidised canteen, limited quarters (in place of HRA), LTC, group insurance and house-building advance follow Central Government orders.

Apply before 16 September 2026, 11:55 pm. Recheck dates and any corrigendum on the ICRB page. Courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka, have jurisdiction. Canvassing is a disqualification.
