Ten percent of the vacancies in these trades are earmarked for ex-servicemen. If a suitable ex-serviceman is not available, that share is filled by a non-ex-serviceman of the same category. Personnel of the Regular Army, Navy and Air Force are treated as ex-servicemen. A candidate belonging to the physically handicapped category is not eligible.

The trade cards print their own age band. The rifleman cards in this notice use 18 to 23 years. Departmental candidates can be considered up to 40 years where that card says so. Relaxation in paragraph 18 is:

Only the date of birth and the name on the matriculation or secondary examination certificate are accepted. A later request to change them is not considered.
Education and domicile
Each trade card names its own certificate: matriculation from a recognised board, a trade certificate, a diploma, or a degree for some warrant officer trades. The candidate must be a citizen of India and a male candidate for the trades in this notice. He must upload a domicile or permanent residential certificate from the competent authority for the state he selects. That state cannot be changed later. Category and trade also cannot be changed after any stage of the rally. Only one application is accepted.
A candidate who claims SC, ST, OBC or EWS reservation must carry the certificate in the format prescribed by the competent authority when he reports for the physical tests. An EWS candidate needs an Income and Asset Certificate for financial year 2025-26, based on income for 2024-25, under DoPT OM No. 36039/1/2019-Estt (Res) dated 31.01.2019.

The notice prints height, chest and weight for male candidates by division, state or region. Mobile phones and other electronic gadgets are banned inside the rally site. Qualitative requirements are in the appendix of the same memo.
Fee
The fee for these Group C posts is ₹100. It is deposited online into SBI current account 37088046712, in favour of HQ DGAR, Recruitment Branch, Shillong-10, at SBI Laitkor Branch, IFSC SBIN0013883. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and ex-servicemen are not charged. The fee is not refunded and is not adjusted against any other expense.
Pay
Pay and allowances are those applicable to Assam Rifles personnel in the rank of the trade. The memo does not print a separate civilian pay matrix.
How to apply
Open assamrifles.gov.in and use the Online Application option. The server functions from 28 September 2026.
Fill one form. Select the state of domicile and the trade. These cannot be changed later.
Pay ₹100 into the SBI account above, unless the candidate is SC, ST or an ex-serviceman.
Submit by 28 October 2026, 23:59 hrs. Keep the application. No change is accepted by post, fax or email after submission.
