The Indian Army has published the bilingual notification for the 145th Technical Graduate Course on joinindianarmy.nic.in. Only the engineering streams and the equivalent streams printed in the notification are accepted. A difference between the stream name on the degree or marksheet and the stream filled in the form leads to cancellation. A degree from a foreign country is not eligible. Final-year students may apply. A candidate whose final-year or final-semester result will be declared after 01.07.2027 is not eligible.

Selection, training and pay

Integrated Headquarters of MoD (Army) may shortlist applications on the cumulative percentage of marks up to the final semester or year, stream by stream. A final-year candidate is called to the SSB only if the percentage up to the sixth semester, or the third year, is not below the cut-off, and the final percentage must also meet that cut-off. The form converts marks to a percentage. Where the college uses a CGPA formula, that college percentage is final. After shortlisting, the candidate logs in and picks an SSB date and centre on a first come, first served basis. A choice once made stays, unless the Directorate General of Recruiting changes it. Shortlisted candidates are called to one of the selection centres: Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bengaluru and Jalandhar. The call-up letter goes by the registered email and SMS. Stage-1 failures return the same day. The SSB is at most five days, then a medical examination for those recommended at Stage-2.

Selected candidates are granted Short Service Commission on probation in the rank of Lieutenant from the course start or the date of reporting at IMA, whichever is later. On successful completion of training, cadets are granted Permanent Commission in the rank of Lieutenant. The period of Short Service Commission on probation does not count for seniority, promotion, pay or pension. If Permanent Commission follows, that period reckons for pensionary benefits. Training is about 12 months. A candidate who marries during training is discharged and is liable to refund the expenditure. The minimum standards printed before training include a 2.4 km run in 10 minutes 30 seconds, 40 push-ups, 6 pull-ups and 30 sit-ups.

During training at IMA the stipend is Rs 56,100 per month, the starting pay in Level 10. On commissioning, pay is fixed in the first cell of Level 10. The training period is not treated as commissioned service. Arrears of admissible allowances for the training period are paid to the cadets. Military Service Pay is Rs 15,500 per month, fixed, from Lieutenant to Brigadier. Officer cadets who receive the stipend are insured for Rs 1.25 crore under the Army Group Insurance Fund. The subscription printed for that membership is Rs 12,500 per month, paid in advance.

1. Open joinindianarmy.nic.in and use Officer Entry Apply/Login.

2. Register if the account is new. An existing registration is reused.

3. Choose Apply Online, then Apply against Technical Graduate Course.

4. Fill personal, communication, education and previous SSB details. Save and continue on each section, then submit.

5. If the form is opened again to correct a detail, submit again.

6. Thirty minutes after the window closes, print two copies of the form with the roll number.
