Indian Army TGC 144 Recruitment 2026: 30 Posts

The Indian Army has published the official Indian Army TGC 144 Recruitment 2026 notice for the 144th Technical Graduate Course (TGC-144) commencing January 2027 at the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, on joinindianarmy.nic.in. About 30 tentative vacancies (may change with organisational need) are for unmarried male engineering graduates in notified streams. Age as on 01 January 2027 is 20 to 27 years (born not earlier than 01 January 2000 and not later than 01 January 2007). Online applications ran from 13 May 2026 (1500 hrs) to 11 June 2026 (1500 hrs) — that window is closed. Cut-off for shortlisting was indicated for June 2026; five-day SSB for July–September 2026. The bilingual PDF on the Directorate General of Recruiting portal is the only official advertisement. Selected gentlemen cadets undergo about 12 months at IMA and receive a Permanent Commission as Lieutenant. There is no written TGC exam — applications are shortlisted (vacancy-to-call-up ratio), then SSB, medical, stream-wise merit and joining letter. Candidates outside TGC stream vacancies may be offered SSC (Tech) April 2027 if unused vacancies and other conditions allow, as in the notice.

Degree / marksheet stream names must match what you entered online. Final-year students must produce passing proof and all semester marksheets by the date in the PDF, with cumulative marks not below the approved cut-off.

Age (as on 01.01.2027)

20–27 years. Unmarried males born not earlier than 01 January 2000 and not later than 01 January 2007. Use the dates printed in the official PDF, not third-party blogs.

Education

• BE/B.Tech, or M.Sc Computer Science where listed, in a stream notified in Para 3 of the PDF.

• Final-year candidates may apply if they meet the proof-of-passing and cut-off rules in the notice.

Other

Unmarried male; citizen of India or other categories listed in the PDF (Nepal / specified origin with eligibility certificate where required). Must remain unmarried until IMA training ends. Stream mismatch between degree and form cancels candidature.

TGC-144 selection process

TGC-144 training and exam pattern

No written TGC paper. Training is about 12 months at IMA Dehradun. Primary arms mentioned include Corps of Engineers, Signals and EME; other arms/services are also possible. Stipend during training is ₹56,400 per month as in the notice highlights. Commissioned rank is Lieutenant, pay Level 10 ₹56,100–1,77,500 plus MSP ₹15,500 as tabulated in the PDF.

2. Register if needed, then apply against Technical Graduate Course (TGC-144).

3. Submit before 11 June 2026, 1500 hrs. After closure, take two printouts with roll number as the notice describes.

On commissioning: Lieutenant, Level 10 (₹56,100–1,77,500). The notice quotes CTC about ₹17–18 lakh per year excluding some benefits. Allowances and promotion table are in the PDF.
