Indian Army TES 56 Recruitment 2026: 90 Posts

The Indian Army has published the official Indian Army TES 56 Recruitment 2026 notice for the 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme (TES-56) commencing January 2027 on joinindianarmy.nic.in. About 90 provisional vacancies (subject to training capacity) are for unmarried male candidates who have passed 10+2 with PCM at 60% or more and have appeared in JEE (Main) 2026 (B.E./B.Tech paper). Age as on 01 January 2027 is 16½ to 19½ years (born 01 July 2007 to 01 July 2010, both days inclusive). Online applications ran from 13 May 2026 to 12 June 2026 — that window is closed. The PDF on the Directorate General of Recruiting portal is the only official advertisement. Successful cadets get a Permanent Commission as Lieutenant after four years (three years at a Cadets Training Wing plus one year at IMA Dehradun) and an engineering degree. There is no written TES exam — shortlisting uses JEE (Main) 2026 CRL and other parameters fixed by IHQ of MoD (Army).

TES-56 eligibility and age limit

Age (as on 01.01.2027)

16½–19½ years. Date of birth only from the Class 10 / equivalent board certificate. Born not before 01.07.2007 and not after 01.07.2010.

Education

• 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, 60% aggregate in PCM from a recognised board.

• Must have appeared in JEE (Main) 2026. The application asks for the JEE Main 2026 application number for B.E./B.Tech only.

Other

Unmarried male; citizen of India or other categories listed in the PDF (Nepal / specified origin with eligibility certificate where required). Must remain unmarried until training ends. Not withdrawn from NDA/OTA/IMA/Naval Academy/AFA on disciplinary grounds. Not debarred by UPSC; no criminal conviction as in the notice.

TES-56 selection process

TES-56 training and exam pattern

There is no TES written paper. Training is 4 years: Phase I three years at a Cadets Training Wing (CME Pune / MCTE Mhow / MCEME Secunderabad) and Phase II one year at IMA Dehradun. Engineering degree after successful completion. Stipend ₹56,100 per month only while at IMA (as in the notice).

1. Open joinindianarmy.nic.in → Officer Entry Apply / Login.

2. Register, fill TES-56, enter JEE Main 2026 (B.E./B.Tech) application number.

3. Submit before 12 June 2026. Keep a print for SSB with originals (Class 10 for DoB, 10+2 marksheet, JEE Main 2026 result copy).

On commission: Lieutenant, Level 10 (₹56,100–1,77,500). The notice quotes CTC about ₹17–18 lakh per year excluding some items. Promotion steps (Captain, Major, etc.) are in the PDF pay table.
