DRDO DEBEL JRF Recruitment 2026: 2 Posts by Email

Defence Bioengineering and Electromedical Laboratory (DEBEL), a DRDO laboratory under the Ministry of Defence at New Thippasandra, Bengaluru – 560075, has invited Indian nationals for two Junior Research Fellow (JRF) seats in Mechanical Engineering. The drive is Advertisement No. DEBEL/HRD/1/JRF-1/2026, listed on drdo.gov.in from 27 August 2026. There is no online application portal. Selection is screening plus interview; a written screening test may be added if many candidates appear. Degrees must be from AICTE/UGC-recognised universities or institutions. The GATE paper and the qualifying-degree subjects must match the Mechanical discipline. Related work experience is preferred. Director, DEBEL may not select anyone, or may amend or cancel the advertisement.

Selection process

Government / PSU / autonomous staff must apply through proper channel and produce an NOC at interview. Canvassing disqualifies. The selection committee may refuse any candidate without giving reasons. Selected fellows may register for a PhD at a recognised university during the tenure, as per extant rules.

How to apply

1. Download advtDEBEL27082026.pdf from the What’s New / vacancies section on drdo.gov.in.

2. Fill the form (page 3). Write marks as percentage. Affix a recent passport photograph and list every enclosure.

3. Scan the signed form plus: minimum educational certificates, matriculation or birth certificate for date of birth, GATE/NET scorecard if used, and caste certificate if applicable, into one PDF.

4. Name the file exactly SUBJECT CODE_YOUR NAME_DATE OF EMAIL (example: JRF-01_ANITA_SHARMA_18092026).

5. Email it to hrd.debel.debel@gov.in before 18 September 2026. Incomplete or partly filled applications are rejected.

For the interview, enter only through ADE Raman Gate with a valid government ID (Aadhaar, passport or driving licence) and two recent photographs. Reach early for security. Mobiles, pen drives, laptops and CDs are not allowed on campus. Buses 315 / 317 series from Majestic: alight at NGEF (about 1.2 km to Raman Gate). Metro: Swami Vivekananda Road (about 1.3 km) or Baiyappanahalli (about 1.6 km).

Tenure and stipend

JRF is awarded for an initial two years. It may be upgraded to Senior Research Fellowship for a third year and extended for a fourth year on performance. Fellows must be ready to serve anywhere in India if awarded the fellowship.
