Eligibility
Experience is counted only after the date of passing the qualification named for the post. The qualification must be from a recognised university or institute. A foreign degree needs an equivalency certificate. An equivalent Indian qualification also needs the equivalency certificate from the competent authority.
Station Engineer (Electrical)
Either route is printed in the notification.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, and at least 7 years of post-qualification experience in a supervisory post in operation or maintenance of electrical substations up to 110 kV.
Or a diploma in Electrical Engineering, and at least 10 years of the same supervisory experience.
The notification also asks for experience in erection, construction, testing and commissioning of electrical systems up to 132 kV; knowledge of control panels and panel wiring; AutoCAD for electrical drawings; knowledge of Central Electricity Authority regulations on transmission, distribution and electrical safety; Malayalam and English; and work in a multidisciplinary team.
Assistant Engineer (Electrical)
A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, and at least 3 years of post-qualification experience as an Electrical Engineer, of which at least one year is in dealing with petitions before the Kerala State Electricity Regulatory Commission. The notification also asks for knowledge of the Electricity Act, 2003, KSERC regulations and CEA regulations for the distribution sector; erection, construction, testing and commissioning up to 132 kV; and working knowledge of VRF HVAC and extra-low-voltage systems. Malayalam and English are required.
Selection
Selection may include a written examination, a proficiency test, a personal interview, or a combination of these. KRL and CMD decide the shortlisting criteria. Only shortlisted candidates are informed by email, SMS or phone. CMD may send the call-letter intimation to the registered email. The email and mobile number should stay active until the process ends.
