GPRB Legal Executive Recruitment 2026: 2 Posts Offline

The Office of the Director General of Police and Chairman, Gujarat Police Recruitment Board (GPRB), Gandhinagar, has invited offline applications on gprb.gujarat.gov.in for two Legal Executive (કાયદા અધિકારી) seats on an 11-month contract. The drive is Advertisement No. GPRB/01/Contract/2026 (Gujarati: GPRB/01/કરાર/2026). The filled form, self-attested copies and a ₹100 demand draft must reach the Chairman, Bungalow No. G/12, Sector-9, Gandhinagar – 382007, by 15 September 2026. Applicants need a law degree from a recognised Indian university, Bar Council of Gujarat registration, five years of advocate practice including three years in the Gujarat High Court, basic computer skill, and working knowledge of Gujarati, Hindi and English. The six-page Gujarati notice (form on pages 5–6) is listed on the board’s Latest Update dated 27 August 2026. It is a contract engagement at the GPRB office, Gandhinagar — not a regular Gujarat Police cadre post and not the Lokrakshak / PSI advertisements. There is no written examination. Shortlisted candidates are called for an oral interview with originals. The Commandant-level terms say either side may end the contract with one month’s notice; poor performance can end it after review every three months. Selected staff have no right to absorption on the government establishment.

Only the contract Legal Executive seat at the Chairman’s office, Gujarat Police Recruitment Board, Gandhinagar. Duty covers court work of the board in lower courts, the Gujarat High Court, the Supreme Court and courts outside Gujarat, plus liaison with government advocates, drafting para-wise remarks and affidavits, briefing counsel and attending hearings. Extra hours and public holidays attract no extra pay. A quarterly court-case statement (appearances, disposals, wins and losses) must go to the Chairman.

There is no written test and no interview date in the advertisement. Do not send original certificates with the form except the demand draft.

How to apply

1. Open gprb.gujarat.gov.in and download the 27 August 2026 Legal Executive notice (pages 5–6 are the form).

2. Fill the form in full: name, date of birth and age as on 31 August 2026, correspondence and permanent address with PIN and mobile, e-mail, qualifications from graduation, Bar registration date, computer knowledge (Yes/No), language knowledge, advocacy experience with period and place, panel-counsel work if any, and any criminal / Bar Council / departmental case.

3. Paste a recent passport-size colour photograph. Sign the declaration and the separate undertaking.

4. Attach self-attested copies in the order printed in the notice, plus one copy of a favourable judgment in a case you conducted. Enclose the original ₹100 demand draft in favour of Chairman, Gujarat Police Recruitment Board.

5. Post the packet so that it reaches the Chairman, Gujarat Police Recruitment Board, Bungalow No. G/12, Sector-9, Gandhinagar – 382007, on or before 15 September 2026.

Keep a photocopy and the postal receipt. Late or incomplete packets are rejected. The board is not responsible for postal delay.

Application fee

The notice does not print a fee exemption for SC / ST / women. Pay only as the Gujarati PDF instructs.

Pay, leave and contract terms

Pay is a fixed ₹60,000 a month. There is no dearness allowance, increment, inflation relief, pay-commission benefit, extra pension, bonus, LTC, leave encashment or advance. Professional tax is deducted. Leave is 11 casual days a year with the Chairman’s prior approval; extra absence is cut from the monthly lump sum. Office hours follow the State Government calendar; overtime is not paid. For official travel, TA is at the minimum of a State Group-2 officer. Conduct is bound by the Gujarat Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, 1971. Selected candidates must live in Ahmedabad or Gandhinagar and may not leave headquarters without permission. Services are available around the clock when the office needs them. The first spell is 11 months and can be extended on GPRB requirement, performance and other Gujarat Government criteria. Either side may end the contract with one month’s written notice (the candidate must give 30 days’ notice to the DGP and Chairman). On death during the contract, only earned consolidated pay is payable to the family.
