CSL CANSRU ITI Apprentice 2026: 9 Seats (A&N domicile)

Cochin Shipyard Limited has opened online applications for nine ITI Apprentice / Trainee seats at its Andaman and Nicobar Ship Repair Unit (CANSRU) under advertisement CSL/P&A/RECTT/CANSRU TRAINEES/ITI/APPR/2026/1 dated 02 September 2026. The window on cochinshipyard.in runs from 02 September 2026 to 21 September 2026. Seats are Electrician 1, Fitter 2, Welder 1 and Stenography & Secretarial Assistant 5. Stipend is ₹11,000 a month. Applicants must be Indian citizens with Andaman and Nicobar domicile, at least 18 years old on 21 September 2026, and must hold Class 10 plus an NTC / ITI in the same trade. Trade-wise seats and stipend

Eligibility from the PDF

Only Indian citizens who are domiciled in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands may apply. Minimum age is 18 years as on the last date of online application. Educational requirement is Class 10 plus National Trade Certificate (NTC) from ITI in the identical trade. A person who has already undergone apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961, is ineligible. Physical fitness must meet the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992. CSL will not pay travelling allowance and will not provide boarding during selection or training unless the PDF later says otherwise. Submit only one application; multiple forms can cancel the candidature.

Selection, medical and NAPS contract

There is no written examination in this advertisement. Merit is drawn on the percentage of marks in the ITI. If two candidates have the same percentage, the older candidate is ranked higher. Shortlisted names go through certificate verification and a medical examination. After that, engagement is through a NAPS contract on apprenticeshipindia.gov.in. Completing the apprenticeship does not create a right to employment in Cochin Shipyard or CANSRU. The published rank list can remain in use for up to 18 months for residual seats, as stated in the notice.

How to apply

Open cochinshipyard.in, go to Career, then CANSRU, then the E-Recruitment link for Trainees/Apprentices. Register with a working mobile and email, fill trade, ITI marks and domicile details, upload documents in the size and format shown on the portal, and submit before the last date. Keep the registration number. For portal errors, write to career.cansru@cochinshipyard.in well before 16:00 hours on 21 September 2026. Do not pay anyone claiming a CSL seat — the fee is nil.
